to St. Aloysius School

Come and let us embrace together the challenge of providing for all our students a place where they can blossom, a place where learning about God and his Creation is the center of everything.

Over the past 160 years, St. Aloysius has continually worked to provide the best quality education for its students. As times are changing faster than ever before, we recognize that improvement is not enough. The uncertain future impels us to continually find ways to equip students with skills and knowledge that will prepare them to be successful in careers that do not even exist yet.

We understand that we can build the best future for all our students by being proactive about the necessary adaptive changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Religious Status

It is not a requirement for a student to be Catholic, but students attending our school must participate in Mass and other faith-based activities. Participating families enrolled in St. Aloysius Church (Sauk City) and St. Norbert Church (Roxbury) pay lower tuition rates and receive priority consideration for enrollment.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The value of a quality Catholic education is invaluable. We do our best to keep tuition rates affordable to most families while ensuring quality results for your investment. Click here for current rates. It is important for us to support families who desire to provide a quality Catholic education, regardless of their ability to pay. For this reason, we provide tuition and lunch assistance to those who qualify. Click here to apply.

Class Size

We typically limit the size of our classrooms to 14 students. If we encounter excessive need where class sizes must increase slightly beyond this limit, we supply a teacher aid in the classroom to provide additional support.

Hot Lunch Program

St. Aloysius School has a nutritious, on-site hot lunch program available for students in grades K-5. We also offer a mid-morning milk snack. Visit our LUNCH MENU page for more information or click here to view the file.

Bus Information

The Sauk Prairie School District provides bus service for our students in preschool through 5th grades. Limited bus service is available for mid-day preschool departures. Contact us to find out if bus service is available for your preschool student.

Dress Code

Our goal is to provide a learning environment where students can successfully focus on academics and achieve their full potential. A student’s personal appearance plays an important role in this, which is why St. Aloysius School has a defined Dress Code Policy for students.

Language Opportunities

We offer students the opportunity to begin learning Spanish as early as kindergarten from many teachers who learned Spanish as their primary language. For students whose families primarily speak Spanish, we have both on-site tutors and dual-speaking staff to help them assimilate to English.

Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome parents and members of our community to volunteer at St. Aloysius School. This is an excellent way for students to develop social skills and learn new skills from people with varied backgrounds and talents. As a protection to our students, all volunteers are pre-screened. All volunteers who want to work with children in the Diocese of Madison are required to complete safe environment training, also known as Virtus. It is an online course which includes the submission of information required for a background check. To complete this training and learn more, visit

Home & School Association

The St. Aloysius Home & School Association is an active, non-profit group of parents dedicated to hosting activities and events to raise funds to support our school. There are tons of ways to participate and get to know other school families. Learn More about how you can get involved here
